  1. I need a Savior

From the recording I need a Savior

AS I WROTE IN THE “POWER” LINER NOTES, FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER MY CONVERSION- EVEN AFTER WRITING “POWER”, “TWENTY FOUR”, AND “THE THIEF”(“ FELLOWSHIP” CAME IN AROUND THAT TIME, TOO )- I WAS UNCERTAIN AS TO WHERE GOD WAS LEADING ME WITH THIS NEW MUSIC. I WAS ENTHRALLED BY THE RADICAL CHANGE IN ME, AND THAT LED ME TO WRITE “SAVIOR” AS A PROLOGUE FOR “POWER”. MUCH OF THE TIME, A SONG TELLS THE ENTIRE STORY: i.e. problem encountered and identified> solution sought and found> solution applied> problem solved(or gloom and misery endured!) AS I WROTE “SAVIOR”, THE IDEA BEGAN TO FORM TO MAKE A STORY, A MUSICAL JOURNEY, OUT OF THE SONGS GOD WAS GIVING ME, AND I BEGAN TO BE EXCITED ABOUT EACH SONG AS IT FIT INTO THIS PROGRESSION I DUBBED “boone’s excursion”. IF YOU LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE ALBUM WITH THAT IN MIND, IT CAN HAVE A DIFFERENT, PERHAPS MORE MEANINGFUL EFFECT. THIS WILL MAKE A WHOLE LOT MORE SENSE WHEN YOU HEAR “DEVILS TALE”( listening to it out of context may make you question my sanity), AND WHETHER YOU KNOW MUCH ABOUT ADDICTION OR NOT, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THE CONNECTION. IF YOU HAVE BEEN DEEPLY AFFECTED BY ADDICTION PERSONALLY, I DARE YOU TO LISTEN TO THE “SAVIOR-DEVILS TALE-POWER” TRILOGY DRY-EYED, especially AFTER READING THE LINER NOTES AND LYRICS TO ALL THREE.
